The supervisor for Gunma University WHO Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) at the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office in Manila attended the full program. Other guest speakers were invited from two Japan Interprofessional Working and Education Network (JIPWEN) universities and Takasaki University of Health and Welfare.

世界患者安全の日
多職種連携教育研究研修センター(WHO協力センター)は、世界患者安全の日に制定された9月17日に、世界保健機関と連携し、患者安全の促進に取り組んでおります。
今年度も、群馬県医師会、群馬県、高崎健康福祉大学と共催し、2019年より世界患者安全の日に合わせ、厚生労働省医政局総務課医療安全推進室長を招聘し医療安全講演会を開催すること、世界患者安全のイメージカラーであるオレンジ色にライトアップすることを前橋市(臨江閣)や草津町(草津温泉湯畑)、高崎市慈眼院(高崎白衣大観音)、高崎健康福祉大学のご協力の下に実施しましたことを報告します。

患者安全を促進する事への人々の意識・関心を高めること等を目的として、2019年5月の世界保健機構(WHO)の総会にて、毎年9月17日が「世界患者安全の日」として制定されました。
第1回グローバル学生IPEリーダーキャンプ
ー共に学び・共に生活し・共に楽しむー
本学主催で多職種連携教育グローバル・ワークショップを開催しました。
4か国7大学から学生27名、教員12名が参加し、アジア地域における多職種連携や多職種連携教育の現状、多職種連携教育における学生リーダーに必要な能力について議論するなど有意義な交流の時間を共に過ごしました。

モンゴル国立第三病院設立70周年記念学会

Summary in brief
The 70th-anniversary celebration of the Third National Central Hospital included an academic conference and commemorative ceremony in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from September 11 to September 13, 2024. The event was attended by the H.E. Mongolian Minister of Health, the Embassy of Japan, H.E. Ambassador of China, H.E. Representative of Taipei Trade and Economic Representative office in Ulaanbaatar, and Representative of WHO. Lectures at the conference were given by Professor Akinori Kama and Professor Hiromitsu Shinozaki (Video) from the WHO Collaboration Center, Gunma University. The event was attended by representatives from Gunma University, Showa University (Japan), Sun Medical Center (Korea), Bundang Medical Center (Korea), Honsei University (Korea), National Taiwan University Hospital, Saint Louis University (Philippines), and LuxDev (Luxembourg) and other missions.
The Third National Hospital is a leading medical facility in Mongolia, dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare. The hospital is actively seeking to enhance its international partnerships, and we are optimistic about its future collaboration with the WHO Collaborating Center at Gunma University.

Twenty-seven participants from six countries attended the program: Two from Malaysia, sixteen from the Philippines, two from Vietnam, one from South Korea, two from Indonesia, and four from Thailand. The supervisor for Gunma University WHO Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) at the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office in Manila attended the first-day program. Other guest speakers were invited from two Japan Interprofessional Working and Education Network (JIPWEN) universities and Takasaki University of Health and Welfare. In addition to 21 Gunma University WHOCC staff members, ten students of Gunma University attended as observers.
Summary of the Program
A site visit was organized as an optional program before the training course officially opened. After orientation on campus, twenty-one participants visited Mihara Memorial Hospital. In the training course, lectures and workshops offered information on Gunma University’s IP training programs as well as the Toolkit developed by the Centre for other institutions to use as a checklist when introducing or improving IPE programs in their institutions. In a workshop, participants experienced simulated interprofessional training based on case scenarios. Additional lectures addressed related topics, such as the present situation of IPE in Asia, the challenges facing the WHO, and interprofessional education and collaborative practice. Some of the lectures mentioned above were pre-recorded and presented for advance viewing prior to the course so that the three-day in-person course could be more dedicated to discussions and interactions. After the opening, the supervisor for Gunma University WHOCC at the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office in Manila addressed some words of greeting and thanks to Gunma University WHOCC for their continued efforts to promote IPE. In addition, two guest speakers from JIPWEN universities introduced their IPE programs and provided participants with further hints for developing or improving IPE programs. A guest speaker from Takasaki University of Health and Welfare, also the founding Director of Gunma University WHOCC, talked about IPE toward Patient Safety. The guest lecture was followed by a staff member’s introduction of a patient-safety-focused IPE training program at Gunma University. Participants gave two presentations: One on the current situation of IPE and challenges in introducing or improving IPE in their institutions on the first day and another presentation on their action plans to introduce or improve their IPE programs on the final day. An active discussion followed each presentation. Gunma University has a Students Interprofessional Education Committee (SIPEC), and one of the staff members introduced their activities. Finally, an orientation was provided for research collaboration through the Asia Pacific Interprofessional Education Research Alliance (AIR Alliance), and a Networking Dinner was held to facilitate future collaboration among participants.

Summary in brief
The DLSMHSI organized the continuing professional development seminar to delve into the dynamic realm of healthcare and explore the impact of Interprofessional Education and Interprofessional Collaborative Practice in the field of medical imaging and therapy (Picture 1). Approximately 450 participants attended the seminar and learned/discussed how to bridge the gaps in healthcare through the power of interdisciplinary teamwork.
Two WHO Collaborating Centre (JPN-89) members, Prof. SHINOZAKI and Prof. LEE, attend the seminar as invited speakers, and had presentations entitled “Global Perspectives on Interprofessional Education and Collaboration: Trends and Issues” and “Framework for Action on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice” respectively (Picture 2).

Summary in brief
The GHPEC 2023 was a collaborative effort between the Praboromarajchanok Institute for Health Workforce Development, Thailand’s Commission on Strategic Plans for the Development of Health Workforce Education in the 21st Century (2018-2027), and partners in the field of health professional education worldwide. The conference aimed to be vital platform for health professional education networks, exchange insights and progress in the health professional education reform (Photo 1).
The WHO Collaborating Centre (JPN-89) sent Professor Lee in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) (Photo2). He had a presentation entitled “Advancing preventive interprofessional education for future pandemics,” and joined the panel discussion of “How to sustain good practices of primary health care professionals post Covid-19” (Photo 3).

Summary in brief
Center for Inter-Professional Education and Practice hosted the IPE Seminar-Workshop on Interprofessional Education. The theme of the conference was “Advancing Health Professions Education Through Interprofessioal Education and Practice.” Approximately 60 participants attended the event onsite and via Zoom (Photo 1).
Professor Lee and Dr. Makino were invited as resource speakers and had presentations entitled “Research Topics in IPE in Asia (Photo 2)” and “Program Evaluation in IPE (Photo 3)”, respectively. Two mission members of WHO Collaborating Centre (JPN-89) disseminated the value and effectiveness of IPE through active discussion with participants.
