Title: Inter-professional Education workshop in Thailand

Summary in brief
The Health Professional Education Foundation (NHPE) of Thailand and the WHO Country Office for Thailand jointly organized the Inter-Professional Workshop in line with the WHO South-East Asia Region (SEAR) strategy for strengthening health workforce education and training. Gunma University Centre for Research and Training on Interprofessional Education (The Centre) was invited as speakers to provide better understanding of Inter-professional Education (IPE) that can lead to collaborative practice.
On day 1, lectures on overviews of IPE, health system and educational system of health professions in Japan, IPE program of Gunma University and perinatal medicine in Japan as a module of IPE were delivered by the members of The Centre. On day 2, small group works in terms of possible role of IPE in perinatal medicine were done. Then toolkit for developing IPE curriculum adaptable to various educational settings was explained and followed by synthesis of discussion. The organizer of this workshop will develop a guideline on IPE course based on their country context. The Centre will monitor the progress in the development of their IPE programs.
