Gwangju Health University is a prvate bachlor’s degree-granting community college located in Gwangju City, Korea. The university is currently providing 14 academic programs in health and social sciences. The university started elective Interprofessional Education program (IPE) for first year students in 2016. Twenty five students from Departments of Clinical Pathology, Physical Therapy, Dental Hygiene, Radiological Technology and Nursing participated in five-day IPE course.
Gunma University Centre for Research and Training on IPE was invited to introduce IPE. Dr. Lee had a presentation entitled “What is IPE” at the second day’s program. He talked about 1) the importance of developing collaborative practice, 2) current state of collaborative practice in Japan, 3) a case presentation of IPE at Gunma University and 4) IPE dissemination in Asia (Photo 1).
