International Symposium on Global Health and Disaster

The International Symposium on Global Health and Disaster was held under the auspices of the WHO Collaborating Centre (JPN-89), Gunma University.
Dr. Masato Izutsu of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan, delivered a keynote lecture on recent developments in global health, including current trends related to WHO, Universal Health Coverage (UHC), climate change adaptation, the International Health Regulations (IHR), and the Pandemic Agreement.
Dr. Rie Matsui of the Graduate School of Health Sciences, Gunma University, shared her experiences at the University of the Philippines and introduced practices and challenges related to community health and disaster nursing in the Philippines.
Ms. Chidawan Suyakong, a graduate student at the Graduate School of Health Sciences, Gunma University, gave a presentation on student-led interprofessional education (IPE) in Asia and introduced the activities of the International Student IPE Leadership Camp.
The symposium provided a valuable opportunity to share current perspectives on global health, disaster response, and interprofessional education, while also exploring future possibilities for international collaboration.
