 The WHO/WHO Kobe Centre organized UHC Leadership Capacity development program and the first training dedicated to the theme “Developing Leadership for Supporting Ageing Populations Towards Universal Health Coverage” in collaboration with Kanagawa Prefecture during 27-31 March 2017. Policy makers from Cambodia, Malaysia and Viet Nam participated in the program, and speakers from Japan, Singapore, and WHO shared the concrete knowledge and experiences in designing and implementing various health social system programs to support older persions.

 Gunma University Centre for Research and Training on Interprofessional Education was invited to introduce IPE within the context of Japan’s experience of ageing and the need for a long term care workforce. Dr. Lee talked about 1) importance of coordination in Long Term Care Insurance System, 2) current state of collaboration at workforce and entry levels, 3) a case presentation of IPE at Gunma University and 4) IPE dissemination in Asia at the session 11 “Stimulating health workforce investments and actions to enable UHC in light of ageing populations” (Photo 1).
