Report on the 13th IPE Training Course (2026)

The WHO Collaborating Centre at Gunma University (JPN-89) held the 13th Gunma University IPE Training Course. A total of 34 faculty members and health professionals from 11 universities in Korea, the Philippines, and Vietnam participated in the course.
The program included lectures and group activities on global perspectives on interprofessional education (IPE) and collaborative practice, IPE programs at Gunma University, simulated interprofessional training using case scenarios, patient safety-focused IPE, evaluation of IPE, student team development, and the roles of faculty members and facilitators.
Participants also visited hospitals and community-based care facilities to learn about interprofessional collaboration and integrated care in Japan. On the third day, an international symposium on health crises and disaster response was held, followed by discussions on future research collaboration and the development of institutional action plans.
The course provided a valuable opportunity to contribute to the further development of IPE in the Asia-Pacific region and to strengthen long-term educational and research collaboration among participating institutions.
